Before my sessions with Lizzie I was completely flummoxed about what I should wear. I had recently returned to work following two children, and all of my old work clothes were not only out of date, but also not relevant to my new career. I was also bored of my everyday outfits and needed a real shake up.
When I met Lizzie I was completely in a rut with my clothing and accessories, both my work and my casual wardrobe were rather gloomy. Certain items had been in my wardrobe for over ten years, there wasn't much there that helped me feel confident and happy in myself at the weekend or at work.
After having two children, I returned to work realising that my body had changed and that I wanted to dress myself appropriately for my role. I had always wanted to give myself a style upgrade but never had the excuse for it. Since I wanted to change and update my clothes anyway, this was the perfect reason for me to choose to do it right.
I contacted Lizzie mainly due to my lack of time as I have two teenage kids, and I work very long hours. Over the years, my confidence has eroded and I suffer from the fear of looking middle-aged or 'mutton dressed as lamb'...
I've always found it really challenging to dress 'business casual'. I feel it's harder for women, especially at an executive level where you have to enter the boardroom, to look credible, yet be approachable to your team. Add in an international factor and the challenge of what to wear becomes daunting.
